Project Idear

We all possess an eclectic mix of music, videos, and images. When I listen to the rhythm and sounds of my music, I often imagine a narrative...a narrative made up of images, emotions, and movement. What if we were to take samples of our music and associate it with an image or video sequence or vice versa by mixing it up into a mini-musical video. For each video, an icon is created by using texts, images, or a looping video sequence. With the collection and collaboration of all our mini-musical videos, we then put all these icons together and have a culture jam session. This jam could be performed in many ways. One that comes to mind is each or all of us be the DJ/VJ by choosing an icon and mixing it live. How can we creatively choose an icon, mix, and jam? This idear spawned from wanting to create and share meaningful connections among the sounds and images in each of our lives...and also creating a different means in which a DJ/VJ can mix up media.
