Open Networking:Freely Sharing

"Knowledge and creativity are resources which, to be true to themselves, must remain free..."
~ Free Art License Preamble

It is only after it is shared that value and meaning come into fruition, as it becomes a commodity.

Creating --> Sharing --> Interacting

We all seek attention and at the same time everybody wants our attention.

"Rule Number One is to pay attention. Rule Number Two might be: Attention is a limited resource, so pay attention to where you pay attention."
~ Howard Rheingold

Living in a mediated world, we all are inundated with information.

We must not let information passively take our attention.

We must actively pay attention and be aware of the intentions and expectations of the information that bombards us.

Intentions can reveal the larger picture and can justify the means.

I.E. Stealing/Sharing music via peer-to-peer networking

(Bad?) Intention: Burning copies to sell to others
(Good?) Intention: Listening to the music as a muse

We must not resort to dichotomies but...my intention is not to profit from this commodity but to share and inspire.

The attention should not be on the amount of moneys gained, but rather the intention, the aim, the mission of the exchange and its effect.

Emphasis should be on exchanging and sharing cultures NOT commodities.
