Chicken Skratches 7

Preguntas Por Paul...

I really like the concept of Empire and especially Orpheus Descending...where you take animals and allow the viewer to share the same perspective as the wasps or chickens LIVE. More importantly, I like how the presentation of Orpheus Descending was in a public space where workers at the WTC would see bits and pieces of how these chickens were growing up. Its presentation was ambient, almost hidden in the backgrounds of human beings everyday busy lifestyles in a structured work environment. I like and respect your interest in integrating your art work into physical architectual spaces.

Was there any other motivation behind this piece?
Did you receive any moneys for this piece?
How does the creation and presentation of Orpheus Descending differ from other pieces that are not in public spaces, such as in galleries where they are purposely displayed for an eventual sale?
How do you define public spaces in comparing physical versus virtual public spaces?
What do you hope the viewer gains from viewing and interacting with your art?
